When applying the clay to the stainless steel and the plastic reflector a small decrease of the volume was measured at the back of the reflector. When applying the aluminum foil to the cardboard and plastic reflector a small improvement was measured according to direct the sound. The stainless steel reflector worked best, which was as expected due to the high reflective qualities of stainless steel and the smooth surface of the bowl. The reflectors did increase the volume of the sound, but they did not only reflect it into one specific area. After testing the reflectors we concluded that the parabolic speaker did not work as well as desired. In this instructable is being explained what steps are taken in order to make and test the parabolic reflectors. (See the attached document for theoretical knowledge on why to use aluminum and clay layers.) We tested them with a layer of aluminum inside and/or clay on the outside and without any layers. To find out what is the most effective parabolic speaker, which can be easily prototyped, we performed some tests with reflectors made out of different materials: cardboard, plastic and stainless steel. (For more information about parabolic and directional speakers see the attached document.) The parabolic speaker consists of a parabolic reflector and an existing speaker. A parabolic speaker reflects the sound of a sound source into one direction only, which makes it theoretically possible to focus the sound at a specific area as a directional speaker does. These (parametric) speakers are quite expensive, so we tried to make parabolic speakers, which can be seen as an analog version of the directional speaker. With a directional speaker it is possible to target audio at a specific area, so that people present inside this area can only hear it. We aimed at making an “analog” directional speaker. This instructable explains how to make and test parabolic speakers.

During this siege, the centurions Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, known to everyone from the TV series “Rome”, jumped off the embankments to see which of them would lay down the more advancing enemies. The Nervii, therefore, besieged the Roman camp in their own way, but the legionaries, and especially the centurions, repelled the attacks. This defeat of the Romans provoked the Nervii tribe to attack another winter fort, but the legion commander Quintus Tullius Cicero (younger brother of the famous orator) did not catch the bait and did not leave the safe fort. Plunged in despair, they took their own lives before the next storm. The few legionaries managed to break through back to the fort, but those who reached the fort were forced to close the gates and fight until dark. The Eburon chief – Ambiorix – outsmarted the legate Titurius Sabinus and lured the 14th Legion under his command, and five other cohorts from the winter camp in northeastern Gaul then surrounded and defeated them. The distance that separated the legions exposed them to numerous attacks because some legions were almost 160 kilometres apart. In winter, at the turn of 54 and 53 BCE, due to poor harvest, Julius Caesar was forced to disperse his legions throughout Gaul. However, this text is intended to present the Caesar centurions, whom he himself mentions, their attitudes and behaviour during numerous wars waged by one of the greatest leaders in Roman history. Final changes to the process were made by Octavian when he recreated his army after the Battle of Actium. This process was initiated by Mark Antony and Octavian, who, while retaining the veterans of Julius Caesar’s legions, reformed them. In addition, Roman legions evolved into well-established formations with permanently assigned numbers and names. The Roman Empire, which was constantly expanding its territory, was obliged to maintain it by placing garrisons, which translated into the constant recruitment of thousands of fresh legionaries. The duty to serve in the army has passed since the consuls went to wars and were forced to enlist conscripts into the newly formed legions. At that time, the Roman army was practically a professional army.įor Roman citizens who dreamed of social advancement or those who could not find another way of life, the warrior became the main source of income. The wars fought by the Romans in the late Republic era made many legions, and even individual soldiers, almost as famous as their leaders. Rome’s contacts with Africa and Far East. Pistachios contain 0.6 mg and peanuts contain 0.8mg of coq10 per 1-oz serving. Nuts And SeedsĪlthough you’d have to eat buckets of pistachios, sesame seeds, and peanuts, these three contain heart healthy vitamins and minerals, not to mention for their size are also rich in CoQ10. Boiled soybeans contain around 1.2mg of CoQ10 per 3oz serving. Rich in protein, and rich in CoQ10, soybean products such as tofu, kefir, and soy protein are a valuable source of CoQ10 for those that choose a plant-based lifestyle. As unappetizing as that sounds, organ meats are still foods, and even though I hardly think anyone of you will indulge in meal prepping chicken livers this week, it still makes the list. For example, a beef heart, contains 11.3mg and the liver contains 3.9mg, while a chicken heart contains 9.2mg of CoQ10, and the liver contains 11.6mg. Therefore, animal organs will naturally be the richest CoQ10 food sources. Organ MeatsĬoq10 is mostly concentrated and stored in vital organs, such as the heart, liver, and lungs. Eating a few servings of chicken per day, will not only help you stay lean and hit your protein goals, but also increase your CoQ10 content. Including chicken in your weekly meal prep, will add around 1.4mg of CoQ10 per 3-oz serving. One 3-oz serving of grass-fed beef, contains 2.6mg of CoQ10, making it one of the best coq10 rich foods. Beef (Grass-Fed)ĭid someone say steak? Yes please. One 3.5-oz serving of herring and mackerel will generally contain 3mg and 6.75mg of coq10. Since CoQ10 is fat soluble, requiring more fat for better absorption and storage, including fatty fish such as salmon, herring, and mackerel in your diet, will naturally produce more CoQ10. CoQ10 rich foods but, diet alone will not be able to supply ample amounts of CoQ10. Studies suggest that increasing CoQ10 content up to 200-300mg per day, over a period of 4-12 weeks, will help increase CoQ10 plasma levels. The average dietary intake of CoQ10 is only between 3-6mg, making supplementation critical to produce energy and neutralize harmful free radicals. RELATED ARTICLE CoQ10 Benefits, Uses, Side Effects CoQ10 FoodsĪpproximately half the body’s natural CoQ10 is obtained through food such as meat, fish, nuts, oils, and dairy products. This is why Coq10 is so great for your heart, since it’s the hardest working muscle in your body. Specifically, CoQ10 enables the human body to restore the rate of mitochondrial respiration, muscle strength, coordination, and exercise tolerance. CoQ10 support muscle cells to become more efficient and effective at producing and using energy. ATP powers every single human cellular action that your body performs. The conversion of energy from the carbohydrates and fats that you consume is converted into glycogen and fatty acids, which is then generated into ATP. What Is CoQ10 And What Does It Do?ĬoQ10 is an antioxidant vitamin-like molecule that assists the biological process of generating adenosine triphosphate or energy metabolism. Your body can synthesize some coq10 on its own but including coq10 rich foods in your diet and supplementation can positively impact overall health and wellness. Studies have shown that Coenzyme Q10 has numerous health benefits associated with cardiovascular health and eradicating oxidative stress, reducing your risk of developing chronic disease. The Core i5-2450P, on the other hand is a little unique, with a clock speed of 3.20 GHz and 3.50 GHz Turbo Boost speed. Clocked at 3.10 GHz with a Turbo Boost speed of 3.40 GHz, the Core i5-2380P is clocked identically to the Core i5-2400, except of course it lacks the iGPU. Intel is perhaps counting on the "P" marker to intuitively denote lack of iGPU, like with P67 chipset. The other two models are the Core i5-2450P, and Core i5-2380P. This chip is geared for overclocking, as it features an unlocked base clock multiplier. The Core i5-2550K, which has been talked about for the past few weeks, is one of these three models that will lack iGPU. The processors very much will work on H61, H67, and Z68 chipset-based motherboards, only you can't use the integrated graphics, making them functionally-identical to first-generation LGA1156 Core i5 quad-core chips. Apparently, Intel is planning to launch three new Core i5 quad-core processors, which lack that integrated graphics. What every Sandy Bridge chip in the LGA1155 package launched thus far has in common is its integrated graphics controller. And things don't stop there: Fisher told us that he is already working on a 22nm design, and elsewhere within Intel, teams are already figuring out what features might be added into the 16nm generation."Visibly Smart" was the tagline with which Intel brought its 2nd Generation Core processor family codenamed "Sandy Bridge" into the market. Intel plans to follow this strategy in the coming years, meaning that the 32nm generation also has two entries on the roadmap: 'Westmere' will be a conservatively shrunk version of Nehalem, while the progressive 'Sandy Bridge' is to add a good deal of new features. This luxurious position enabled the second team to concentrate much more on new features, such as the integration of multithreading, a memory controller and a video chip. Every obstacle that the first team encountered was a lesson for the second one, which then had an extra six to twelve months to solve it. For the 45nm generation, Penryn represents the conservative approach while Nehalem is the progressive one. This is why Intel chooses to explore two different approaches simultaneously, with an offset of about a year. On the other hand, doing things conservatively may lead to suboptimal use of the possibilities that the factories, which cost billions, have to offer. If problems are tackled in too radical a fashion, ideas may turn out to be impossible to implement. The first 45nm-chip was made in early 2006, less than a year before Penryn had to be finished.Ĭhanging characteristics of a manufacturing process, also known as 'design rules', present significant challenges to designers. Prior to this, Mastercard’s list of reason codes was long, convoluted, and confusing now there are fewer than ten different reason codes relevant to most merchants. This will make it easier for your bank or credit card provider to match the purchase with the debit. In 2016, Mastercard chargeback reason codes were condensed and consolidated, in a restructuring that resembled Visa Claims Resolution. That way, when you make a card purchase through PayPal, the same amount will be debited from your bank account or credit card and go immediately to the seller. If you're making a card purchase through PayPal, it's best to empty your PayPal account regularly so there is no credit balance. So if the money that you've loaded into your account is then used to buy goods and services, that transaction won't be classed as a card transaction and is unlikely to be covered by chargeback. If you add money to an account with an online payment provider such as PayPal, the loading of the money is considered to be the card transaction. You can also approach the FOS before the eight weeks are up if your provider has given consent for you to do so. If more than eight weeks have passed since you submitted your claim to your credit card provider, you can refer your claim to the FOS straight away without the need for a deadlock letter. If your credit card company doesn't accept that you have a valid claim and refuses to pay up, you can ask for a letter of deadlock so that you can refer your dispute to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). It then has eight weeks to deal with the complaint. There’s no set timeframe for your card provider to resolve a chargeback claim, but if you’re unhappy with the outcome of the claim, or how long it’s taking, you can complain to your provider. If you have any trouble when putting in a claim to your credit or debit card provider, ask to speak to a supervisor as some staff may not be fully aware of the rules. There are some scenarios where the chargeback timeline is longer than the usual 120 days or starts from a different date. So, contact your bank as soon as you identify the problem because the clock may have already started ticking. There is a time limit on chargeback claims - typically 120 days from the transaction processing date, or from when you expected to receive the goods/service if it’s being delivered. The main requirement for getting your money back through chargeback is evidence that there's been a breach of contract. The trader could argue that you're in breach of contract for not paying. Claims must be addressed to the bank that provides your debit or credit card, which in turn will put in a request to the merchant's bank.Īs a result, you could get your money back from the merchant's bank if the money is there to be recovered.īut, there are no guarantees your bank will be able to recover the money through chargeback, or that the trader will accept that you were justified in taking the money back. But you can't claim back the cost of fixing a faulty item.Ĭhargeback doesn't mean there is joint liability on the card company. If, for example, you ordered two items but only one arrived, you can ask for the money back on the item you didn't receive. You can ask your card provider to try to claw back the money you paid, or part of it, using our template letter to make a chargeback claim. When can chargeback be used?Ĭhargeback can be used in instances of goods not arriving at all, goods that are damaged, goods that are different from their description, or where the merchant has ceased trading, though you should request a refund from the retailer first. For credit card transactions over £100, you have rights under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. If you paid by credit card: chargeback is useful if the cost of the goods or services was less than £100. If you paid by debit card: chargeback is available on all goods bought on debit card, though exact rules may vary between the Visa, Maestro and American Express networks. Chargeback vs Section 75Ĭhargeback is not enshrined in law but is part of Scheme Rules, which participating banks subscribe to. The recipient may dispute a chargeback with the bank if it can prove it is invalid. It works by your bank withdrawing funds that were previously deposited into the recipient's bank account and putting them back into your account. It can apply if goods are damaged, not as described, or haven't been delivered. How does chargeback work?Ĭhargeback enables you to dispute a card transaction and request your money back for something you've paid for. If you've exhausted the retailer or service provider's complaints procedure and haven't reached a solution, or they've gone out of business, you can contact your bank to make a chargeback claim. Chargeback offers protection if you've been let down when buying goods or paying for services. Each act delivered, but none rivaled the show’s headlining moment. That energy carried through a DJ set from Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds, a one-two punch from Brooklyn’s own Fabolous and Jay Z, and a Lil Wayne cameo. A hammering shared set from Rick Ross, Meek Mill (whose Drake beef hasn’t made him any less of a fan-favorite), DJ Khaled, and French Montana (who paid respect to both the incarcerated Bobby Shmurda and the late Chinx) drove the crowd into a frenzy. The crowd, a sea of Swag Surfin’ mostly black millennials, mirrored the artists onstage at any given moment during the concert’s flashy third act. Following Nick Jonas’s by-the-book delivery of his latest solo hit, “Levels,” the show’s special guests were almost exclusively nonwhite for the remainder of the show, starting with Vic Mensa (who is biracial) and ending with Jay Z himself. It was, for all intents and purposes, a hip-hop show. With those press releases out of the way, the rest of the night resembled something closer to Summer Jam than Global Citizens Festival. Again, Jay Z kept business and art closely intertwined. (the biggest crowd-pleaser at the halfway mark), brought out the cast of the buzzing YouTube show Money & Violence, confirming rumors that its second season would premiere on Tidal in January. Then came time for a bit of housekeeping: Radio personality Angie Martinez introduced Damian Marley as Tidal’s newest artist owner. Most were allowed a song apiece, saving room for the main course. Tidal has never touted artist discovery as a selling point in the way Spotify has tried to, and so it served some of its rising artists (Alessia Cara, Flatbush Zombies, Justine Skye) as light appetizers, along with smaller names like country newcomer Thomas Rhett and J. In the time it took to identify some of the night’s first artists (the early birds were especially unfamiliar with the show’s opener, French band Indochine), their set was over. No encores, not much lingering applause, just a hello and a good-bye. (Prince, though originally billed as a headliner, failed to show.) They sped through the concert at the breakneck speed of models on the runway at New York Fashion Week each artist materialized onstage, performed their most recognizable hit, then made a hurried exit. The show saw Jay Z putting some of the company’s biggest shareholders - Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Lil Wayne - to work. Nevertheless, it was reason enough for Jay Z to call in some favors from his board of trustees and trot them out for the livestreamed Tidal X: 1020, an event that felt more like a sprint to the finish than the benefit marathon it claimed to be. It’s a paltry milestone compared to competitors like Apple Music, which this week boasted 6.5 million paid subscribers among its total 15 million users, now that its free trial ended three weeks ago for those who signed up upon its June launch. Last month, Jay Z announced that the service had finally surpassed 1 million paid subscribers. The internet mocked him accordingly.īut on Tuesday night at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Tidal finally had cause to celebrate. Forgot about that,” he laughed, after his lawyer reminded him. Last week, when Jay Z testified in court about a “Big Pimpin’” sample he’s been sued over, he didn’t count Tidal among his many business ventures. Seven months on, Tidal has been caught in a maelstrom of bad press - most loudly on social media, where Jay Z is often criticized for failing to prove Tidal a worthy competitor in the overpopulated streaming wars, and vilified whenever Beyoncé releases a music video exclusively on the service. Each member of this exclusive squad handpicked by music’s most ambitious entrepreneur was positioned as an “artist owner.” But merging art and business in such a branded way looked to many as superficial as the declaration Jay Z had his Founding Artists sign, one by one, after which they posed for a group photo to hang on the boardroom wall before disappearing behind a neon-blue square above their Twitter handle. Except now they were each his business partner. Back in March, when Jay Z first entered the music-streaming ring, he did it with a stiff, glitzy press conference that brought to the stage a bevy of his famous friends: Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Madonna, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Jack White, Arcade Fire, and of course, Beyoncé.
